A free online WOD clock
Run For Time, AMRAP, EMOM or Tabata here in your browser, or show the time of day. Big digits for a phone, laptop or gym TV, with a 10-second count-in and optional beeps. No sign-up and nothing to install.

Clock shows the time of day in 24-hour format. Leave it on a spare screen as a wall clock between classes.
For Time counts up from zero. Set a time cap in minutes if your workout has one, or leave it at 0. When you finish, press Pause, then Finish, and the clock holds your time. With a cap, it stops at the cap. See the For Time guide for scoring.
AMRAP counts down the minutes you set. Work through your rounds until it reaches zero, then note rounds and reps. The AMRAP guide covers partial rounds.
EMOM starts a new round on every interval. Choose the interval and the number of rounds; the clock counts down each one and shows which round you are on. More in the EMOM guide.
Tabata defaults to 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest for eight rounds. Change the work, rest and rounds for other interval sessions. The clock stops at the end of the last work interval. See the Tabata guide.
Setting it up in the gym
- Choose the mode and check the settings.
- Tap the Sound button to turn the beeps on. Browsers keep sound off until you tap.
- On a laptop or a TV connected to one, press Fullscreen so the digits fill the screen.
- Press Start or the space bar. The 10-second count-in beeps at 3, 2 and 1, then goes.
Three short beeps sound before each change of round or phase, and a longer beep marks the start. Work shows in green and rest in red, so the room can read the phase at a glance. On a phone, turn it sideways for bigger digits.
Questions about the online timer
Is the online timer free?
Yes. There is no account, no advert and nothing to install. The timer runs in your browser and sends nothing about your workout to GRIT.
Why can't I hear the beeps?
Browsers block sound until you tap the page, so the beeps start switched off. Tap the Sound button to turn them on before you start. On a phone, check the volume and silent mode, which can mute browser sound.
Will my screen stay on?
In browsers that support it, the page keeps the screen awake while the timer runs and while the Clock is showing. If your screen still dims, change your device's auto-lock setting for the session.
Does it stay accurate if I switch tabs?
Yes. The time is worked out from your device's clock rather than counted tick by tick. Browsers slow down hidden tabs, though, so a beep can arrive late while the page is out of view. Keep the timer on screen during the workout.
Does it save my results?
No. It remembers your last settings in this browser only. To keep scores, write them down or use the free GRIT app, which saves results to History on your iPhone or iPad.
Take the clock with you.
The GRIT app is free on iPhone and iPad, with Build a WOD for multi-block sessions, a saved History and a large clock for the gym.
