Free iOS WOD timer
EMOM timer
An EMOM timer — “Every Minute On the Minute” — starts a new interval each minute: you do the prescribed work, then rest whatever's left of the minute. GRIT runs EMOMs free, with a clear colour change so you know when the next minute starts.
How GRIT runs an EMOM
Choose EMOM, set the number of minutes (and, in GRIT, custom interval lengths if you don't want a flat 60 seconds), and start. GRIT signals each new interval so you can keep your head down and just move.
- Open GRIT and choose EMOM.
- Set the total minutes (e.g. 10) — or fully custom interval lengths.
- Add a 10-second count-in if you want one.
- Start — GRIT marks each new minute with a colour + beep.
- Save your result and notes when you finish.
Example workouts
- EMOM 10: minute 1 — 12 kettlebell swings; minute 2 — 10 goblet squats; repeat.
- EMOM 20: odd minutes 15 cal row, even minutes 10 burpees.
- Strength EMOM: every 90s, 3 heavy cleans (GRIT lets you set the 90s interval — no paywall).
FAQ
What is an EMOM timer?
An EMOM timer starts a new interval every minute on the minute — you do the work, then rest the remainder. GRIT's EMOM timer is free and lets you set the number of minutes, with clear work/rest colours.
Can I set custom EMOM intervals (not just 60 seconds)?
Yes. GRIT lets you customise the interval length — a lever SmartWOD keeps behind its paywall. GRIT's is free.
Is GRIT's EMOM timer free?
Yes, entirely free with no account and no in-app purchases.
Does it beep before each minute?
Yes — GRIT gives a count-in and a clear signal at each new interval so you don't have to watch the screen.
Start your next EMOM on it.
Free on the App Store — every timer mode and every custom setting, no account, no paywall.
